Some of my favorite coaching tips to tide you over while I’m on vacation…
1. Banish toxic people and situations
Life is too short to put up with people or conditions that pull you down. Time to purge…or at least limit your exposure to them. Focus on those things and people that inspire you.
2. Action is the antidote — to everything
Nothing seems quite as bad when you’re moving forward. And if there is nothing you can do about it, let it go.

3. Take a break
When you find yourself going in the wrong direction, stop and step back; reassess.

4. You can’t get different results doing what you’ve always done
Are you beginning to see a pattern here? Coaching is all about taking action. If you don’t like what you have, do something else. There are always other options.

5. Mind your own business
You can’t change other people. It’s hard enough to change ourselves. Improve your own life and let others take care of themselves.

6. Give yourself permission
When my coaching clients say, “But I don’t know!” I ask them this question. 99.9% know the answer. You do, too. Give yourself permission to say it.

7. You get what you focus on
What are you telling yourself…about yourself? Whatever it is, you’ll just bring more of it into your life. Be sure you’re sending your energy in the right direction.

8. Don’t just sit there — do something!
Are you waiting for Prince Charming to sweep you off your feet? Are you waiting for the boss to recognize your stellar qualities? How’s that working out for you?

9. Outsource your weaknesses
“I’m a lousy bookkeeper.” “I can’t spell worth a damn.” “I don’t know how to build websites.” OK. Fine. Find people who can take those tasks off your hands and focus your time and energy on what you do well. And stop obsessing over your weaknesses.

10. Take a risk
You want to do something new and different, but your brain has a laundry list of “reasons” why it won’t work? Why not give it a shot? If it won’t kill you or anyone else, go for it. If it doesn’t work out, you can cross it off your list and move on the next opportunity.

11. Banish the Negative Nellies in your head
Give yourself some credit. You can do amazing things, if you put your mind to it. Believe it — and believe in yourself.

12. Stop playing small
Step up! You are WAY better than you think you are. Unless you’re a megalomanic. If that’s the case, tone it down. 😉

13. Be the actor in your own life
Do you want things to get better? What are you doing to make that happen?
